Each connector is rated for up to 3 amps of current. This is sufficient for most typical LED strip/COB lighting applications.
Do I need any special tools to install these connectors?
These solderless connectors install with a simple clasp attachment, meaning that you can achieve a safe and secure connection without any tools.
How do I install this to an LED strip?
1. Open the wire clip. It should snap open with just a little effort.
2. Insert your 8mm LED light strip inside the clip underneath the two contact prongs, making sure the + and - symbols align.
3. Snap the wire clip shut. Gently pull on the wire to confirm you've secured the strip inside the connector.
Can I use these connectors for outdoor LED strip lights?
No, these connectors have an IP20 rating which means they are for indoor, dry location use only.
What wire gauge should I use with the screw terminals?
We recommend 16 AWG to 22 AWG stranded wire for the best connection.
Can I shorten the LED strip and re-use the connector on the cut end?
Yes, you can trim your LED strip to length and reuse the connector with no issues. Just make sure to cut the LED strip on the cut mark.
Is it normal for the connectors to get warm during use?
It is normal for the connectors to get slightly warm to the touch during operation. This is not a cause for concern.
