1. Do I need an electrician to install LED strips?
In most cases, no. LED strip lights run on low-voltage DC power (12V or 24V) from an adapter that plugs into a standard wall outlet. No hardwiring is required for most home installations.
2. What if my run is longer than one strip?
The builder will tell you. For runs over 16 ft (5m), we'll recommend a 24V strip and show you how to connect multiple segments using connectors or solder-free clips. For longer runs than 50ft it will be best to connect with our sales team or expert tech at 1 (855) 768-4135.
3. Can I dim the lights?
Yes — just select "dimmable" in Step 3 and we'll include a compatible inline dimmer or smart controller in your parts list.
4. What's the difference between 12V and 24V strips?
24V strips have less voltage drop over longer runs, making them better for runs longer than 10 feet. The builder automatically picks the right voltage for your project length.
5. Are your strips cuttable?
Yes. All HitLights LED strips can be cut at marked cut points (every 1–4 inches depending on the strip). We'll show you exactly where to cut for your specific length.
